MedMechanix is a medical education resource intended to equip medical professionals with the how’s & why’s of medical management so you can make more confident patient care decisions. MedMechanix goes beyond the test’s artificial multiple choice facade into real-life clinical knowledge.

Can you explain the topic categories?

To help organize episode when you are searching for something and so you know what you can expect, we started making these tags:

• Unzipped – these are big medical conditions that are explained to connect the pathophys with clinical presentation
• Pharma – these episodes go over medications, SE, uses and how to choose them
• Supratentorial – psychological practice of medicine
• Rants – discussions based off my experiences
• Minis – quick episode on small topic
• Down & Dirty Neuro (DnDN) – series explicitly delving into neuro topics

Who are your episodes meant for?

Medical professionals and students. Originally, our host has been teaching physician assistants (PAs) and nursing practioners (NPs). Eventually several medical students got on board.

How often do you post?

Our bare minimum post is once a month. It really does take that long to write, edit, produce, post, and create the handout.

Why a podcast?

Originally, the decision was made for this to be a podcast instead of a YouTube channel to allow on-shift clinical providers and students going through rotations to listen in your car.

Who is involved?

The host: Dr. W Faulconer is just your average friendly, neighborhood emergency doctor with a passion for teaching and a desire to push medicine into a better learning environment. She started this whole thing so we mostly blame her.
